The Swan SR12030BN is aimed at anyone who wants a proper amount of cold drinks storage tucked beneath a worktop, whether that is a home bar, a garage or a shared kitchen in student digs. Its standout point is plain volume: 80 litres behind a glass front, which Swan says takes 100 standard 330 ml cans or 30 wine bottles. Among the drinks fridges we compare, nothing else offers that much room in a single door.

Our take

What Swan says it does

Swan positions this as a stand-alone glass-fronted fridge that sits under a counter. Inside are three removable glass shelves, an interior light and a manual thermostat dial. The temperature span runs from 3 °C up to 10 °C, which is a beer and soft drinks range rather than a wine cellar range: whites and sparkling sit comfortably there, but reds would be kept colder than most people serve them.

The specification table on Amazon lists the cooling method as thermoelectric, while the energy figure is 85 kWh per year and the label class is E. A key lock is also listed in the specs, although the bullet points do not mention it, so it is worth checking on delivery.

Size, fit and installation

The cabinet measures 47.4 cm wide, 44 cm deep and 84 cm high, and Amazon gives a depth of 49 cm with the door open. That height should slide under a standard UK worktop, though you should measure your own gap and leave room for air at the back, as the listing gives no figure for ventilation clearance.

Adjustable feet help on an uneven garage floor, and the door can be rehung on the other side to suit the room. It weighs about 25 kg, so one person can move it into place, and it ships with a UK Type G plug.

How it stacks up against the HCK and the hxoity

The HCK 48 L glass-door fridge is smaller and reaches down to 0 °C with a stated 39 dB, but its door cannot be reversed because of the LED strip. The hxoity 40 L desktop model is quieter on paper at 38 dB, yet it only cools between 10 and 15 °C, which is too warm for crisp lager. The Swan sits between them: colder than the hxoity, roomier than both, with no noise figure stated at all.

Warranty is another difference. Swan offers one year as standard, with a second year available if you register the product online.

Who should look elsewhere

If you want to keep red wine at cellar temperature, or need two separate zones, this is the wrong tool. The same applies if noise is your priority in a bedroom or lounge, because Swan publishes no decibel rating, so you cannot compare it against the quieter models.

Verdict

Pick the Swan SR12030BN if you want the largest single-door drinks fridge here for cans, beer and chilled whites, and you have an under-counter space around 85 cm tall. Choose the HCK 48 L if you want colder settings in a smaller box, or the hxoity 40 L desktop model if a quiet worktop unit matters more than capacity.
